Clouds may cover the sky

But though at times it is hard to see

I threw out some clothes the other day

A salad, a steak and a peice of pie just wasn’t enough for me
When I’d eaten until I was almost sick and nearly out of breath
I felt even worse when I thought about
All the people who’ve starved to death

We’ve got it all, if you think about it

Silence is a crime, no doubt about it
Now is the time for us to do something about it

”If you think about it”, I told myself,
”See things as they are
We can’t let it go much further now,
It’s already gone too far
We have got so much we don’t really need
It’s time for us to share
…but on the other hand, that’s not the way to become a millionaire”

If you think about it …

One time a year everybody’s wondering
about the new year, what will it bring
Will it bring us sorrow, will it bring us happiness
Will it be a good year, or will it be a mess

Happy New Year in every land
Happy New Year for everyone
I do believe, and that is clear,
that a year with Jesus is a happy year

Another year when children will be born
into this world, to maybe weep and mourn
as innocent victims of poverty and war
Let’s get together in fighting for
a Happy New Year …

We’re waiting for this kingdom soon to come
where God is papa and Jesus king
When this old world will be forever young
and the whole creation will join and sing:
